DIY Wedding Day Emergency Kit

Thursday, April 6, 2017

Can we be 100% honest for a moment? Something will go wrong on your wedding day. It’s inevitable! Coordinating 300 guests, 5 groomsmen, 5 bridesmaids, your future in-laws, your parents, and let’s not forget your vendors?? The stars would have to align for EVERY tiny thing to go perfectly. That’s why we’ve compiled our must haves in your Wedding Day Emergency Kit!

  • Lint Roller
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers: Hangnails are the worst!
  • Safety pins: We haven’t been to a wedding yet where the bride’s bustle hasn’t broken. 90% of the time, the GROOM is the culprit, he accidentally steps on the bride’s train as she’s walking away and SWOOP, there goes your seamstress’s hard work. Safety pins and a sewing kit can be a lifesaver in this situation.
  • Tylenol (or any other pain reliever)
  • Pony tail holder
  • Clear Nail Polish
  • Sewing Kit
  • Baby Powder: It’s going to get HOT under your wedding dress. It’s just a fact. If you lightly apply baby powder before it’ll help keep you dry and smelling fresh. In addition, do your thighs chafe if you’ve been walking a lot? Apply baby powder to your inner thighs to decrease the chaffing. This was a lifesaver for Kathleen!
  • Visine
  • Nail file/cuticle pusher
  • Chapstick
  • Mouthwash: You’re going to be doing A LOT of kissing at your wedding. Make sure you and your future hubby are smelling fresh and clean! You definitely don’t want to start out your marriage with stinky breath!
  • Razor: How many times have you shaved your legs and missed a spot? Don’t let today be the day! You could even include a travel size bottle of shaving cream.
  • Tide to-go pin
  • Super glue
  • Tissues: It’s a wedding and someone’s going to cry. Don’t let it be you, front and center without a tissue to dry your eyes. Let your MOH hold onto one (or two). You can even let your groom hold onto a few in one of his pockets.
  • Wet ones: Kathleen had a mimosa bar where the girls were getting ready and the juice jars, fruit, and champagne were all so sticky by the time the wedding rolled around. We loved having the Wet Ones to wipe down our hands and the jars occasionally.
  • Q-tips
  • Hair Spray
  • Make-up Remover
  • Spray Deodorant: Someone’s bound to forget theirs.
  • Bobby pins
  • Pepto-Bismol
  • Bandaids
  • Dental floss
  • Dry Shampoo
  • Tic-tacs
  • Crochet Hook: If your dress has buttons, PLEASE pack a crochet hook. We buttoned Kathleen’s dress with a bobby pin and a cuticle-pusher. Let me tell you, it was a PAIN! Please don’t let yourself get caught in this position.
  • Tampons & Midol: You won’t be the first bride to start her period on your wedding day and you won’t be the last.
